KAMPALA, UGANDA – Ugandans vote Thursday in a high-stakes election that will test President Yoweri Museveni’s grip on power and his willingness to accept an unfavourable outcome.

Museveni, 81, has ruled Uganda since 1986 and has never lost a presidential election. He is seeking a seventh straight term on the ticket of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), facing seven challengers in a race dominated by pop star-turned-opposition leader Robert Kyagulanyi, widely known as Bobi Wine.
