Cameroon Secures €38.1 Million AFREXIMBANK Loan for Rural Solar Electrification

  • Funding to expand solar power to 200 rural localities across Cameroon
  • Project aims to connect over 30,000 households but highlights broader energy gaps

Yaoundé, Cameroon – President Paul Biya has authorised Cameroon’s economy minister to secure a €38.1 million (approximately 24.86 billion francs CFA) loan from the African Export-Import Bank (AFREXIMBANK) to finance a rural solar electrification initiative.
