Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria’s Chief of Army Staff, Taoreed Lagbaja, passed away in Lagos on Tuesday night following a prolonged illness, according to a statement from the presidency. “He passed away on Tuesday night in Lagos after a period of illness,” presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga said in a November 6 statement. Lagbaja’s death marks the loss of a key figure in President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
