  • Rwanda and Kenya sign fintech licence passporting agreement.
  • Deal aims to speed cross-border digital payments expansion.

 

KIGALI, RWANDARwanda and Kenya have signed a fintech licence passporting framework designed to allow digital finance companies to operate across both markets with fewer regulatory hurdles.

The agreement – known as the Kigali Declaration on Fintech License Passporting – was signed during the Inclusive FinTech Forum 2026 in Kigali from March 10 to March 12.
