DAKAR, SENEGAL — Senegal’s tax revenue surged sharply in 2025 even as government spending contracted, a trend economists say reflects stronger collection but raises concerns about pressure on the formal economy.

According to the latest economic outlook report from the Directorate of Forecasting and Economic Studies (DPEE), published on February 27, 2026, Senegal recorded a strong increase in fiscal revenue by the end of November 2025.
