PayPal is in talks with African fintech firms as it plans to roll out a cross-border digital wallet platform on the continent in 2026, targeting one of the world’s fastest-growing payments markets.

Payments giant PayPal is seeking to deepen its presence in Africa through PayPal World, a new global platform designed to make local digital wallets interoperable across borders, according to its head of Middle East and Africa.
